Coronavirus – COVID19

We are continuing to follow the advice of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education in responding to COVID19 at school.

· We are encouraging students and staff to minimise social contact (e.g. handshaking, high fives, hongi).

· Students and staff are encouraged to stay away from school if they are unwell. Winter illnesses are common in schools and by staying away, seeking medical attention and practising good hygiene, we can all keep any spread of illness to a minimum.

· We have suspended all year level and school assemblies until further notice.

· Visitors to the school are being asked to stay away and not enter school grounds if they are feeling unwell, or have travelled overseas recently. We ask that people in this situation contact the school via phone on 09-636-6006 or email ps@ohs.school.nz

· We have cancelled the Massey Sports Exchange scheduled to take place next Tuesday 24 March.

· School trips are being dealt with on a case by case basis depending on the nature of the trip and the number of students involved.

· School sport practices are still going ahead. College Sport have advised that currently local sports competitions are still running. National sporting events have been cancelled and/or postponed.

We will keep you updated on any developments as we receive updates from the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education.
