We hope that Term 2 has begun well for you, as our country progresses through Alert level 4, and we move into Alert level 3 on 28 April. Thank you all for your support of the learning from home programme; we are very appreciative.

Under Alert Level 3 – the school will be partially re-opening from Wednesday 29 April.  The key messages for all families are:
- The school will only be open for students in Y9 and Y10.  Y9 and Y10 children of workers in employment that is deemed “essential” or “safe” are among those who may attend school.
- If there is a parent or caregiver available to look a Y9 or Y10 student at home, students are encouraged to continue learning at home.
- If your child is in Y9 or Y10 and has a health condition that means they are at greater risk of a severe illness, or if your child is sick, you must keep them at home.
- Y9 and Y10 students who are attending school will be placed in a “bubble” of up to 10 students, and will not be able to mix with students in other “bubbles” during the day. Students who attend school should bring their food (school café not open) and chromebook each day.
-Students in Y11, 12 and 13 are required to continue to work from home. They are not allowed to attend school.

I want to assure you that we will continue to support your child’s learning – whether your child is at school or at home, they will have exactly the same programme of on-line learning. Nothing different will be provided for students whether they attend school or learn from home.

In order to ensure the safety of students and staff who do come to school, we will be operating with strict enforcement of health and safety measures, which are being jointly developed by the Ministries of Education and Health. In order to ensure we have the right safety plans in place for the number of students who will attend at Alert level 3, we must know how many Year 9 and 10 students need to attend school from Wednesday 29 April. If you have child/ren in Y9 or Y10, please complete the attached questionnaire for each child.
