Congratulations to Georgia Hay 11Wt who has been invited to take part in the Young Leaders Sustainability Programme.

 The programme is a council initiative which aims to empower rangatahi to actively practice kaitiakitanga (guardianship) and champion action for Te Taiao (the environment). The focus of this particular programme is the Manukau Harbour. Students will cover subjects such as climate change, environmental degradation, poverty, prosperity and inequality. In the programme participants will develop their understanding of the ocean, seas and fish and consider our connections with the moana. 

This will be a great opportunity for Georgia to represent local youth, develop her leadership skills, meet other like minded students and learn more about what we can do to protect our precious local harbours and coasts.
