Week 2 and the Real Mahi has Begun

In week one all OHS students enjoyed a week of engaging activities, building relationships with their peers and teachers, preparing for the year ahead.

At the combined Senior Assembly Ms Shea, welcomed students back to school and congratulated them on their success in 2020. Despite a very difficult year, students showed resilience and determination, achieving excellent results across all year levels. Congratulations!

Students have been reflecting on their 2020 year, celebrating their successes and considering where they may be able to do even better this year. They have set goals for themselves so that they have a clear pathway to help achieve a healthy, positive and academically successful 2021.

Returning students were excited to see the considerable progress that has already been made on our new gym and teaching block. We are all looking forward to following the progress on these buildings and can’t wait until we are able to use them.

It is very pleasing to see that so many students have already registered for sports teams and the upcoming swimming sports and athletics day. You can find information on social media, the website or please see Mr Coombes in the sports office.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Ms Kaur, Mr Coombes, our deans, kaitiaki and school councils, who worked hard to ensure that the year started so positively for all.
