Danilo Tongia 13Wn has been working alongside Civil Defence at Spark Arena as an essential worker during lock down.
Spark Arena is the largest indoor stadium in the country and it is now being used by Auckland City Council to dispatch badly needed food parcels to people who are unable to get to the supermarket, or to the growing number of people who can no longer afford to pay for their groceries.
Danilo 13Wn was working at Spark Arena, when his boss asked if he would be prepared to be part of the team picking and packing food parcels for people in need. Danilo jumped at the opportunity, “it is good to know when you are working that you are doing good, helping people who need it,” he said. Safety is a top priority, everyone working at the Arena, has their temperature taken, must wear protective masks and gloves and must sanitise their hands before they start work. Danilo enjoys working in such a positive work environment, where everyone is working together, doing their best at this difficult time.
We would like to thank Danilo and all the other people in essential services who have been working to help during this time.
