Spoken Word Captivates Audience

It takes a lot of courage to stand in front of an audience, speak your truth, entertain the audience and judges, in a Spoken Word competition. That is exactly what our amazing Spoken Word teams did at the Regional Heats.

The competition was fierce, with many teams including our own competing for the first time. The judges said they were blown away by the courage and talent displayed by teams who stepped forward and “spoke life and truth”

Mrs Cotton commented,” The calibre of poetry performed that evening really highlighted the genuine love of writing that these students have. The pieces ranged from humourous anecdotes to heart-wrenching societal truths spoken out with passion and strength. This was an amazing experience for our young people, one that I think will stick with them for a long time to come.”

Congratulations to all the members of our teams and in particular to the senior team who have advanced through to the semi finals!
