On Being Bold

Six of our Year 13 girls were fortunate enough to attend ‘Dreaming Big Day - On Being Bold 2020’. ‘On Being Bold’ was created to support women by sharing the personal lives and career journeys of prominent New Zealand business leaders. Their shared experiences and expertise certainly inspired our young women.

They were excited to have 45 minutes of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern's very valuable time and were addressed by former Prime Minister John Key. Speakers came from diverse backgrounds and included Margie Apa CEO of Middlemore Hospital and Sivana Schenone, a partner in a law firm.

Varani Ropati13Ne shared her experience “ It was really memorable being in the presence of such incredible people. My highlight was meeting Jacinda Ardern, but I was inspired by the journey of all the speakers”

Christine Anesone 13Ne said,”Hearing from these inspirational and influential women in technology, law and politics was amazing. They all had their own unique stories about where they developed their passion. I enjoyed meeting John Key and hearing about his upbringing”.

Certainly this will be a day to remember for Christine Anesone, Awatea Mackie, Pisila Nau, Melisa Ngaluafe, Varani Ropati and Lani Williams.
