Macleans Exchange

On Friday 28th October, Onehunga High School hosted Macleans College in a junior sports exchange.  This was the second time that this event had been run with Year 9 and 10 students competing in nine games across five sports.  These included, football, netball, basketball, volleyball and rugby.

The exchange started with a pōwhiri before the matches got underway in the gym, on the fields and up on the netball courts.  The results of the exchange were:

Boys' football: 0-9 loss

Girls' football: 4-2 win

Year 9 netball: 8-39 loss

Year 10 netball: 23-25 loss

Girls' basketball: 54-13 win

Boys' basketball: 31-52 loss

Boys' rugby 7s: 0-34 loss

It was a real highlight being able to host a visiting school and utilise the new facilities. The games were well supported by OHS students and staff and provided an opportunity for our junior sportsmen and women to showcase their hard work this year.

We look forward to the return to Macleans College in 2023 for the third running of this annual exchange.
