JETS Whānau Evening

The whānau of JETS (Junior Emerging Talent Squad) players were invited to the school on Monday evening for an overview of the JETS programme.

The programme aims to be a pathway to sporting excellence for junior students who will be pushed to be fitter, better prepared and disciplined in their health and physical fitness to perform at their best.

They are expected to have 100% attendance at all training sessions and will always present themselves in the correct JETS uniform. Their behaviour will be guided by the OHS values of LAC (Loyalty and Courage), Trust, Respect and Integrity. Students will be involved in both practical sport specific training sessions and theory sessions on topics including; team culture and leadership, injury prevention, sports psychology, goal setting, nutrition, and well being.

There will be opportunities for players to attend live Blues, Phoenix and other games and they will hear from guest speakers.

The talent of some of our students and this programme will ensure a bright future for OHS sport.

Thank you to the whānau of JETS players for their support and particular thanks to the sponsors of the programme; Ray White- Rohan Thompson, Marin Construction, and G J Gardner Homes.
