Grappling with Geography

For the first time, OHS entered a team of three Level 1 Geography students, Tamara Teua 11Wha, William Web-van de Water 11Bn, and Dallyn Tafiti 11Ml, in a National Geography competition, held recently at St Cuthbert’s College in Auckland.

Teams moved through a series of time limited tasks, designed to test general geographic knowledge, key geographic concepts and more specific cartography related skills. At the play dough station, students were required to build models of different geographic features.

This was a challenging and enjoyable experience for students who look forward to the next time they are able to test themselves against their contemporaries from other schools.

Twenty schools from the Auckland region competed; OHS finished a very commendable 6th.

Well done!
