Congratulations to our wonderful tumuaki Deidre Shea, who was awarded a MNZM (Members of the New Zealand Order of Merit) for her Services to Education in the Queen's Birthday and Platinum Jubilee Honours list!

We could not be more delighted for Deidre whose dedication to, not only our tamariki but all students is extraordinary. She strives relentlessly to support every student and teacher on their educational journey, advocating at regional and national level championing for better outcomes for all.

Deidre is the Chair of the NCEA Professional Advisory Group (PAG), established to provide advice to the Minister of Education. She was awarded sabbaticals in 2012 and 2016 to investigate models of mentoring and effective teaching and learning environments, respectively. Deidre is the immediate past President of the Secondary Principals Association of New Zealand (SPANZ). We are very fortunate to have her knowledge and expertise guide our decision making at OHS.
