Congratulations Georgia Hay 12Wt who has been selected to attend a ‘Blake Inspire” programme in October this year.

‘Blake Inspire’ is a week-long residential, leadership development programme in partnership with the Ministry for the Environment. Competition for places in this programme is fierce, being selected is an honour Georgia truly deserves.

Georgia will join a group of 35 young leaders selected from all over Aotearoa, for a week of experiential learning and leadership development in the Waikato. She will meet like minded students, environmental and business leaders, scientists and experts to learn about environmental issues facing our country, focussed more specifically on the Waikato region.

The programme was inspired by the late Sir Peter Blake, who wrote in his final log entry 4 December 2001 “We want to restart people caring for the environment, through adventure, through participation, through education, through enjoyment”. He was shot and killed December 5 2001.
