Busy End of Year for Junior Students

Year 9 students participated in a programme of fun and learning to end their year. The programme developed by Ms Kaur, challenged students to enjoy themselves, keep an open mind and learn from the new situations and experiences they found themselves in.

In unfamiliar groups, students moved through a series of activities. They made a Jigsaw depicting their reflections on 2022. They practiced the school Haka and found themselves enjoying writing poetry in the Spoken Word session. They played some sport and in the STEM class learnt about Industry 4.0 which for the uninitiated centers around using advanced technology, including artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, robotics, digital mirroring and 3D printing as a holistic approach to manufacturing. This was a fascinating insight into how digital technologies are changing the face of business in a world our students will be part of. Students participated in a Mindfulness session learning techniques they could use to help them to de-stress and cope during difficult times.

On Monday Year 10 students were back in school having enjoyed an amazing Lifestyles week. All junior students enjoyed a sports and cultural day. Whether it was learning how to use chopsticks, painting Chinese characters, learning Samoan and Tongan dances, making Cook Island inspired artwork, or having their hands decorated with Mehndi, students had fun sharing and celebrating their cultures.

Huge thanks to the staff and students who worked so hard to make the last days of learning for students so rewarding.
