Auckland University Seminar

Fifty year 13 students attended a Careers Insights seminar featuring Auckland University this week.

This was an excellent opportunity for students considering their options for tertiary education to learn more about Auckland University. Mr Max Murray from the university schools’ liaison office, provided information on the different pathways open to students wishing to attend the university, explaining that even if they did not achieve University Entrance, they could still attend after successfully completing foundation courses. This will make your time at university longer and cost you more, so working hard to achieve UE was a much easier pathway. Mr Murray described what university life was like and encouraged eligible students to apply for scholarships.

Mrs Shaw, from the careers department has organised a series of seminars this term, providing students with the opportunity to learn about different tertiary institutions and career pathways which interested students are encouraged to attend. Information on available scholarships can be found on University websites and on the Moneyhub website which also offers valuable guides and advice for senior students. Please contact Mrs Kurtovich if you would like help applying for specific scholarships.
