1st XV Rugby Girls

The Girls 1st XV Rugby team have had a disrupted start to their season and unfortunately due to the reappearance of Covid 19 this disruption  seems set to continue. Despite this, the girls have been truly impressive, showing determination, loyalty and courage in the games that they have played.

They had a loss of game time due to lockdown and a BYE in the first week of the rugby season.

In very exciting and close games OHS;

  •       Won against Southern Cross High school 7-5 for the first time ever during a season game – Monday 3rd August

Player of the day for the backs: Deanne Philpott Y9

Player of the day for the forwards: Apikale Tupou  Y10

  •       Won against Tamaki College 12-7 – Monday 10th August. Tamaki’s coach is an ex Silver Fern player.

Player of the day for the backs: Mele Feaomoengalu Y9

Player of the day for the forwards: Denayla Tavui Y9

Many of our team are very young and show fantastic potential. We look forward to following them during the season and in the years to come.

Congratulations girls, we are proud of you all.
