Alyssa Baxter Breaks Records!

Alyssa Baxter 10Cw is well on her way to one day achieving her dream of competing in the Paralympics.

It has been an exciting year so far for Alyssa, who at the beginning of the year was honoured by the Halberg Foundation with a scholarship to compete in the Australian Track and Field Championships in Sydney at the beginning of April.

Last week Alyssa competed in the New Zealand Track and Field Champs in Christchurch, representing Auckland. Alyssa won 3 Gold medals, in the 100m, 200m and Long Jump, and set new records, in the 100m and the Long Jump, in her category. A fantastic result achieved despite the chilly conditions which prevailed on the day. Alyssa is in excellent form ready to compete as part of the Athletics NZ Junior Team in Sydney in a few weeks time.

Immediately on her return from the Australian Champs she will travel to Tauranga where she will represent OHS in the North Island Secondary Champs.

Alyssa we salute you; you embody the OHS values of loyalty and courage. Congratulations on all that you have already achieved. We wish you every success in your upcoming competitions.
